Why the fee applies?
This refund was initiated after settlement, meaning it was processed after HolyPay had received
final confirmation that the payment was successfully captured and the funds were deposited into
HolyPay’s processing account.
As a result, the original transaction has already incurred non-refundable payment processing costs
(card network and processor fees). Since those costs can’t be recovered, the 3% processing fee
offsets the expense HolyPay incurs on the original transaction.
